FDAC Annual Conference and COVID-19

The organizers of the Fire Districts Association of California (FDAC) Annual Conference are aware and take seriously the growing spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19). We are also aware that some conferences have chosen to cancel or postpone their events. FDAC leaders are being briefed on a regular basis locally as emergency responders and today, feel comfortable with holding the conference as planned on March 31 – April 3, 2020 at the Napa Valley Marriott.

Compared to other events that have chosen to cancel their events, FDAC’s conference is a smaller gathering of less than 200 attendees who will be primarily driving or at least traveling from just within California.

Recognizing that the coronavirus is not an airborne virus but instead is transmitted by droplets that live on surfaces, we will be working with the hotel to implement additional safety precautions at the conference.

We count on all participants to use their best judgment in deciding whether or not to attend the FDAC Annual Conference. If you have any signs of illness prior to the conference we ask that you not attend for your safety and the safety of others.  Our priority is to keep all of our attendees happy and healthy!

FDAC’s Conference and Education Committee has worked hard to develop a fantastic agenda with an engaging lineup of speakers. We look forward to seeing all of our participants later this month in Napa.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact our Administrative Director Carmen Berry at cberry@fdac.org.
